Levi's Craftwork.

So Levi's has relaunched it's Regent Street flagship store and to celebrate they had a fat party that we certainly missed out on, any of you get down? Well as part of their relaunch they are running a promotional campaign featuring 18 of London's best craftsmen- ranging from singers to directors. Not only are they featured on the Levi's website but they also have a space dedicated in the re-vamped store to showcase photographs of these master craftworkers, shot by renowned photographer Dean Chalkley, alongside exhibits illustrating their varying inspirations, tools and products that help them in their crafts. The space will also be used in the feature to house regular exhibitions so keep checking the website to see whats going on- or we'll prob just tell you!

Hunk of the Hump!

This week were gunnin for Theo Walcott, mmmm hmmm! It's quite fitting as Arsenal are makin it rain at the moment in 3rd place (my team, gwan gooners!) Waych this space for rankin at the top spot (fingers crossed!)

So anyway, back to Theo!

Walcott transferred to Arsenal on 20 January 2006, for a fee of £5 million, rising to £12 million depending on appearances for club and country, at the time this was a record fee for a teenager. I really can't be arsed to write his whole life story coz it's Easter Bank Holiday, so check here if you don't already know!

Dido Fontana Photography

I just came across an article about
Dido Fontana where they penned him as Italy's version of Terry Richardson. That made me want to find out more straight away!

Born in Italy in the early 70s Dido Fontana grew up surrounded by his dad’s camera and art works, doing himself art with different media, readying the big giants, lifting weights and looking at every kind of imagery.

In this way in his mind increased an extraordinary heterogenic plethora of images you now can find in his photos which represent not only a figure and where there’s no message but a world.

His soul is baroque and his eye is damned and voyeuristic but his style is raw and sexual, fashion and anti-fashion at the same time.

But first of all it is direct and pure, without alternations or embellishments.

I can make your bed rock!

How GOOD are these new Spring 2010 Jeremy Scott Flinstone inspired shoes???

If you need them in your life they are called Bone-Bow, I don't know how much they are though :(

25 Years of D&G

I think me and CometGirl have got a bit musical this weekend, we need to wheel back and get some more fashion news on the go!

Yesterday marked the quarter-century pairing of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana!

"Our first show?" Signor Dolce reminisces. "We did it in a small apartment in Milan. We organised it ourselves, me and Stefano, without PR, with nothing. My sister and brother were on the door."

Byker

Since I'm up in my hometown, Newcastle, I'm doing a relevant post with some of my fave photographs. Taken by Sirkka-Liisa Konttinen of a lil place called Byker (I'm sure most of you can remember Byker Grove?) these pics show life in the 70's for residents as well as a behind the scenes look at a local dance school. Photographs are taken from the books Byker and Step by Step.

John Galliano for Fashion Fringe

Fashion Fringe

Following on after Donatella Versace, John Galliano is to be the new honorary chairperson for Fashion Fringe.

“I am hoping we find a rebel genius. I will look for someone who reminds me of me when I was starting out - someone original, unique, who has their own style and handwriting and isn't afraid to try something new. Fashion sometimes gets scared and plays it too safe - but I want to push boundaries. When I started, all I wanted to do was create - I didn't have a clue about business, but it is so important to have good foundations in both. So many talented designers have been lost or swallowed up by corporate machines because they didn't know how to handle the business side. I learned the hard way.”
