So V Magazine has decided its next issue is gona be dedicated to plus size models- they have posted a lil preview shoot, shot by Terry Richardson. So the concept was they took a 'normal' model (so we're talking a lass the same weight as my 8 year old brother) and a 'plus size' model (someone who would struggle keeping up a pair of UK size 12 jeans) and then photographed them in the same outfits because-
IF IT'S BRIGHT ENOUGH, TIGHT ENOUGH, OR EYE-POPPINGLY PRINTED ENOUGH, ODDS ARE IT'LL WORK ON ANY FIGURE.Heres the rest of the pics-
V MAGAZINE
So once again we have the fashion industry trying to fob us off, pretending they actually give a shit about the body image they promote- as far as I am concerned its just another publicity stunt, they are very obviously not bothered about this issue and just see it as an opportunity to jump on the latest fashion band wagon (Mark Fast, Beth Ditto), love to see the day when a whole fashion magazine including the advertorials are normal size women? Its basically the same as the Black Vogue issue (don't even get me started on that shit! ARGHHH!) its a way for the magazines to pretend they are doing something innovative and forward thinking about a social issue when in fact they are sugar coating it too keep us sweet, but guess what that sugar coating is gona melt in our mouths and all we'll be left with is the bitter taste of hypocrisy.
I gota ask you all tho, honestly which model do you think looks better?
